Current Practice:

  • Manages a private practice providing legal services to people who need assistance with family law matters (divorce, marital property division, child custody, paternity, guardianships, child support, adoptions, guardian ad litem, etc.), social security disability, wills and estates, and criminal law.
  • Public Defender for Pascagoula and Gautier municipal courts: ensuring that those who cannot afford an attorney have representation and are treated fairly in the justice system.
  • Board Attorney for the West Jackson County Utility District: assists the board of commissioners with ordinances, contracts, property, and compliance issues to ensure that residents of West Jackson County are provided safe and clean drinking water and efficient sewer service at reasonable costs.
  • Board of Directors of the Mississippi Center for Legal Services: overseeing the statewide operations of a nonprofit that assists people who cannot afford an attorney and helping provide access to quality legal services in the chancery courts.

A lifetime of service and dedication to justice:

  • Served 12 years as an Assistant District Attorney for Jackson, George, and Greene Counties, 3 under Dale Harkey and 9 under Tony Lawrence working to protect our communities and prosecuting hundreds of felony cases and violent crimes.
  • Served as an Assistant Public Defender for Jackson County providing legal representation to those who could not afford legal representation and helping them navigate the criminal courts and protecting their constitutional rights.
  • Served as a law clerk for the Mississippi Supreme Court analyzing and researching complex legal issues for Justice Michael Sullivan (dec.), writing briefs, and drafting bench memoranda and decisions.
  • Practicing law in Jackson County and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for over 25 years in chancery, county, municipal, and circuit courts.
  • Former President and Vice-President of the Jackson County Bar Association.
  • Former President and Vice-President of the Jackson County Young Lawyer’s Association.
  • Served children and families as a registered nurse in pediatrics and adult med-surg including work at Denver Children’s Hospital in a cardiac-burn step-down unit and at Baptist Memorial Hospital (formerly Oxford-Lafayette Medical Center) at Ole Miss.
